11th Annual Powerade Pinnacle Summer Bike Race Series

The Lowdown

A regional recreational racing series created in 1998 by Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR). The popular race series is geared for fun and competition, from beginner to expert riders, for a total of 12 racing categories. The races consist of varying lengths and difficulty to challenge riders of all abilities on Mt. Crested Butte's network of trails and quality single-track.

Schedule

Races take place on Thursday evenings at 5:45 PM at the ski area base. The five race dates for this season are July 24, July 31 and August 7, 2008. Dates are still tentative and subject to change.

Again this year the series will be offering the Free Shimano Youth Series for kids during the same time. The Free Shimano Youth Series is designed to give children the opportunity to compete like their parents in a positive and fun environment. The series has been experiencing more and more families each year, so it only makes sense to make it fun for everyone.

Registration

Registration for each race is held at the Gothic Building deck at 4:30 pm the day of the race. Entry fee is $15 and the kids race is free. Pizza or pasta, beer and prizes follow every race.
